The lobby and garden were lovely, and I’d rather spend time there than in our own room. The pool was nice but a little crowded in hot weather. The beach is very close, about a three-minute or 400-meter walk, and the hotel has its own sunbeds and umbrella. Free bikes are available for three hours a day, which makes it easy to explore Sabbiadoro. Food at breakfast and dinner was great, with a mix of self-service Swedish-board and à la carte. The waiters were keen to help, sometimes a bit too keen. Our room was very small even for three people and seemed old and worn. The bathroom and room had all the “compulsory” items for a four-star rating, but meeting that list seemed quite a challenge. It felt like a perfect way for the hotel to make money.

For €300 a night during Ferragosto week, I expected more from a hotel rated four stars. The beach beds were included in the price, which was good, but I wouldn’t recommend the place. The rooms were extremely small, the bathroom could barely fit one person, and the shower door was broken. They didn’t change the bedsheets once during our week, though we did get fresh towels every day. Breakfast looks amazing in the photos, but they use pictures from the one-night Ferragosto aperitivo. The regular breakfast was the same every day with little choice. Staff weren’t very friendly either.

The kitchen took my celiac disease seriously, making every meal safe for me while still delicious and beautifully presented. The chef and kitchen staff paid close attention to my gluten-free needs, and I’m grateful for the care they put into it. Salvatore looked after me at meals and was friendly and professional. He knew the gluten-free options, answered all my questions, and helped me feel valued as a guest. His hospitality made dining even more enjoyable. The whole staff offered warm service from the moment I arrived. Thanks especially to the chef and Salvatore, my stay was perfect. I’d highly recommend this hotel, particularly to anyone with dietary restrictions, since they’ll go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The room had a bit of damage, and breakfast was okay. The website photos made the breakfast look amazing, but the real thing fell well short. It was a nice stay overall, just nowhere near four-star quality.
