Hotel Amalfi & Dependance

It’s old and simple, but good value for the price. Clean place, warm and friendly staff, and everything is a short distance away. Cash only.

It’s a very nice place, but there’s no parking. I had to leave the car 1.3 km away and walk.

The room was clean, well arranged, and had basic amenities. Breakfast was simple but good, and the location was convenient for the center and beach. The AC worked perfectly, and the room refrigerator was clean and in good condition. Still, the staff’s behavior ruined the stay. We temporarily misplaced our key, which turned up a few hours later. Loris, the receptionist, asked us for 50 euros, saying work would be needed to open the door. There was no damage, so that felt absurd and out of proportion. Worse, Loris openly mocked my partner while they were calmly trying to find a more honest solution. That was unacceptable treatment of a guest. It’s a shame, because the property itself deserved a better rating. The lack of respect, professionalism, and empathy left us deeply disappointed. I can only give one star and advise against staying here until staff management improves.

The coffee was delicious, and there was a good range of cakes and pastries. Toast, rolls, bread, and croissants were all fine for a small hotel. The machine juice wasn’t fresh, but that didn’t bother us. Ham and salami were unfortunately warm. Tomato and mozzarella were okay, as was the small selection of fresh and jarred vegetables. Fresh fruit meant melon only, and the spreads were disappointing, just cream cheese in 5g packets. All in all, breakfast was good. The AC worked perfectly, and the fridge in the room was clean and in good shape. The hotel is basic and cheap, which by itself would have been fine, but many facilities felt neglected, and some seemed unsafe. The shower drained poorly, and the water was either ice cold or boiling hot, with no comfortable setting between. The sink drain had been patched with tape. There was no proper duvet, just a thin throw, and we found sand on the mattress. Towels are changed only every three days. The balcony table was damaged with a small hole, the chairs were broken, and one chair back snapped. The outlets and wiring looked makeshift. Most concerning, a wall lamp beside the bed in the children's room had no bulb and exposed wires. We only stayed one night, and it was tolerable for that short visit, but we wouldn’t return. If you expect cleanliness, safety, and a basic level of comfort, you’ll be disappointed. We wouldn’t recommend the hotel.
