Hotel Blue Marine

The calamari was the best I've had in Lignano, with great sauce and a generous portion. The mussels with the hard clams were amazing too, and the pizzas were big and tasty. Prices are fair for what you get. The waiters are really friendly and speak lots of languages. Sometimes there's a wait for a table, but it's absolutely worth it. Try going before 8 or 9 pm. A really nice restaurant :)

The fried potatoes were expensive and tasteless, and the grilled chicken was impossible to eat. The naturally gluten-free meal came with an extra 4€ charge for being gluten free, which was disgusting. The roast beef was dry and had no taste. A really bad dinner for me and my family, especially at such a high price.

We spent more than 15 minutes waiting at the entrance with a group of six who had arrived before us. Nobody acknowledged us, then a staff member rudely told us to get out of the way. I stopped a waiter to ask how it worked, whether someone would take our names and give us an estimated wait. He just repeated that we should stay clear and they would come eventually. I answered in the same tone, in Italian, and left. They lost ten customers in under 20 minutes, and seemed not to need our business or anyone else's. Next door at o sole mio, the host and staff seated us, our 8-month-old, and our dog within five minutes, despite about 30 people waiting outside. The food there was great too.

We eat there all the time. The pizzas are great, the food is awesome, and the service is quick and really friendly. Never been disappointed.
