Park Hotel

We’ll be back next time we visit Lignano. The hotel is small but works really well, and the staff are professional. Everything was very clean, from the tidy room and spacious bathroom to the fresh towels and bed linen changed daily. Breakfast had an incredible range of food, and the restaurant meals were delicious. Ten out of ten for cleanliness. Thanks, and see you again.

The people working at the hotel were friendly and professional, but the property didn’t feel like a four-star place to me. I’d rate it three stars. The room and bathroom were in poor condition. The furniture looked at least 10 to 15 years old and was coming apart, bits were falling from the walls, and the bed was dirty and uncomfortable. The fridge was switched off and empty apart from two small bottles of water. The balcony door wouldn’t close, and the balcony structure seemed unsafe, especially for children. Breakfast also fell short of four-star expectations. The juices were cheap Bravo ones, the cappuccino from the machine tasted strange and unpleasant, and the espresso was like an American coffee. The scrambled eggs had a rubbery texture. The whirlpool seemed overcrowded, and I never saw anyone cleaning or maintaining it in the morning. I hope the water treatment and chemicals are automated, or it could become a bacteria party. The swimming pool looked fine, but I couldn’t find a place to shower or wash my feet before using either pool. Maybe I missed it. The Wi-Fi didn’t work properly, so sending work files would be a problem.

The hotel’s staff were at least kind and accommodating, but our stay went badly. The second day, the main entrance door was broken and opened without a keycard. The air conditioning was dripping in front of that door, the automatic blind button fell off, and the balcony door still wouldn’t work. Our three bikes were stolen, but we were accused of losing them. They pressured us to say they were lost, and the hotel director became extremely upset when we explained what had happened. She now says we have to pay the full €750 for all three bicycles.

A clean room and a very good self-service breakfast, with friendly staff. The hotel is nicely placed for a short walk to the beach, while still being a little away from the town centre in a quiet area.
