Residence AIRONE

We were in apartment 302 while our kids competed at The Lignano Olympic pool. It was an easy walk to the pool and a short one to the beach. The apartment was spacious, with a queen bed in one bedroom and two twin beds in the other, plus two full bathrooms. The beds were uncomfortably hard, and the sheets weren't very good quality for the price. The kitchenette was fairly well stocked, though it needed bowls and wine glasses. The elevator was handy on the third floor, and there was a garage below street level. We liked the large balcony off the kitchen too. Better toiletries and some coffee would have helped. It was a good apartment overall, and a few small upgrades could make a big difference.

We found the place at the last minute, and it worked out well. The staff were especially welcoming. There were six of us, with a bed for everyone and two separate bathrooms. A lovely balcony connected all the rooms, and the kitchen was fully operational. Parking was available underground and out front for easy access. The elevator serves every floor, and a ramp links the front yard to the entrance, which makes it easy for people with mobility problems.

Rubbish, avoid. The beach is one street away, and there's a nice swimming pool across the road. The staff were rude and unhelpful. Nobody showed us to the apartment, which was three streets from the hotel. We wrote to them in English, but they insisted on replying in German, even though in ITALY we speak Italian and English. The apartment didn't match the advert. There was no sun deck, just a small terrace. It could have been cleaner, especially the kitchen. The aircon rattled all the time, some stove gas elements didn't work, and the extractor fan was dead, with no light. The toilet seat was broken. They left only one toilet roll, and we couldn't tell if the dishwasher worked because there was no washing tab. We paid 530 EUROS for two nights, arriving Friday at 1900 and checking out Sunday at 1100. We wanted Saturday for the beach. When we told management about the problems at checkout Sunday morning, they were rude and said we should have reported them on moving in. They wouldn't accept that it was their job to make sure the apartment was in good condition before renting it. Greedy and useless, avoid.

The accommodation is a bit run down, but that alone wouldn't have been a problem. The beach is nearby and the pool is good. The underground garage, which we paid extra to use, was in scandalous condition. Stalactite-like deposits hung from the ceiling and dripped onto our car for 5 days, leaving marks on the bodywork and corroding the chrome frame. We didn't drive for days, so we noticed the damage too late. They barely accepted our complaint, didn't refund the fee, and the car damage was worse. We'd have rather parked on the street. I don't recommend it.
