Albergo Panice

The owners were warm and helpful, and we had a wonderful stay. Our junior suite was spacious, clean, comfortable, and cozy. We also loved the food at the restaurant and the spa. One of our best stays, and we'd definitely return.

The spa was a highlight, especially getting the full two-hour session in the sauna, jacuzzi, and steam room. The shared space had a cozy feel and a style I really liked. Our room was small but clean, with a lovely mountain view from the balcony. The location worked well for us, about a five-minute drive to Limone Piemonte’s restaurants and ten minutes to the 1400 ski station. The ladies running Albergo Edelweiss made the stay lovely.

The breakfast was poor and limited, with no seasonal fruit or vegetables, and customer service was also terrible. I can’t understand the reviews or how they’re still “alive.” Avoid this place at all costs. We paid 110€ for a deplorable room, and using the spa cost another 40€/person for a hot tub and sauna. For comparison, we went to Mouratoglu resort on the French Riviera, where they have a real spa and regular offers, and eating at their restaurant is free. The room was depressing, with furniture that felt like it belonged in the 18th century but had no charm, awful hospital-like floor tiles, and a TV that was a joke and practically impossible to watch. The mattress was the worst. We went two nights without sleep because of how bad they were, with a double bed made from two single mattresses. I never thought that was still a thing. It’s right on the main street, with no insulation at all, so resting is impossible from 6 am to 9 pm, when the Tende tunnel is open. This should not be called a hotel. It’s more like a hostel with hotel pretensions and prices. And if you want dinner at this “luxury” hotel, they charge a 4€ coperto even when you’re staying there. The coperto is an illegal practice that should be banned. It’s imposed because owners don’t want to pay their workers a decent salary, so they rip off tourists. A total shame. I haven’t seen a charge this high anywhere in Italy, and we travel a lot.

The food was incredible, and the staff were really friendly. There’s secure parking for motorcycles, cars, and other vehicles. A beautiful hotel, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
