Hotel Garden

We made the mistake of stopping at their snack bar for an early dinner. The staff were so rude, and it was the worst food we had in Italy. It was a penny cheaper, at least, and we still had a good laugh remembering the meal. We felt robbed and fooled. Our mistake, but stay away from this place.

The furniture in the rooms was outdated, but that wasn’t our main problem. There was a misunderstanding at checkout, and the hotel manager, Andrea, humiliated us by yelling and swearing in a completely out of line way. That kind of behavior from a manager is unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The breakfast was poor, with little beyond bread, salami, cheese, a few cakes, and fruit. The coffee tasted bad, too. The hotel is old-fashioned, like the country road, and very expensive. It needs renovating instead of charging such a horrible amount. The checkout misunderstanding was handled completely unprofessionally. I tried to talk it through with Andrea, who says she manages the hotel, by phone first. She spoke down to me as though she were God, cursed in Italian thinking I wouldn’t understand, and threatened to call the police. She came out about 10 minutes later and carried on the same way in person, smug, condescending, rude, and even laughing mockingly in my face. I’ve never been spoken to with such disrespect. After we paid that awful amount, she kicked us out. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone.

The location is good, but the hotel is in poor shape. Everything in the rooms is old and needs renovating. It’s clearly overpriced.
