Hotel Leonardo da Vinci

The food was really good, with plenty to choose from at every meal. The hotel has a lovely private beach and incredible views, though the walk into town takes about 15 minutes. The self-service bar is a little basic.

There are bars throughout the property and plenty of loungers by the pools. We also had our own section of beach, and the views are amazing from all around the hotel. The three pools include one with a small slide and a kids' pool beside the main one. Food was good and the staff were friendly and pleasant. Our room for four felt like it could have used more space.

The rooms were comfortable, but noise came through easily, and the play area was out of service and not being maintained. There wasn't another place to eat on site beyond the food provided, so we would have needed to go into town for more choice. The menu could have had more variety, and there wasn't much entertainment either. Still, the staff clearly put effort into looking after guests. They were warm and attentive from our arrival, and meals came on time. With three meals daily plus snacks and drinks available, it was easy to settle in. We could take a shuttle into the town centre or walk there in about 10-15 minutes. The lake and mountain views are lovely, and the indoor pool, gym, and private area to enjoy the scenery were nice facilities. It's an older hotel, but if you like staying in, listening to birds, and taking in the landscape, it works very well. I'll definitely come back on my next visit.

Limone was lovely as a base, with ferries to other towns around the north of the lake. August weather in the mountains isn't guaranteed, and we had quite a few cloudy spells, showers, and even thunderstorms. The staff were nice and helpful, and the pools were great. The property is well kept, with lovely views and a nice restaurant and lobby, but the rooms are dated and basic. The food wasn't good, even for someone like me who isn't fussy and doesn't expect much from an all-inclusive buffet. Would I return? No, mainly because I'd choose another area to explore if I came back to Lake Garda. The rooms just don't match the rest of the hotel.
