The charge at checkout still feels unfair to me. The inner door knob was already broken when we arrived, and the door would not latch or lock. Since the outer door locked and we could secure the room, we didn't think much of it. On checkout day the knob came off, so we left it on the table, but we were charged 50 euros because we hadn't reported the damage right away. We were told the doors were newly installed, so perhaps the contractor should be asked about the installation, and housekeeping may also have missed the broken handle. Either way, we didn't cause the damage, and I regret not taking photos. The staff and service were good until checkout. It's an older building with plenty of small flaws, so report any damage or missing furniture, knobs, or latches as soon as you arrive, or they may charge 50 euros per item. I’m sorry this review sounds harsh, but I want others to know about the issue and avoid an unwarranted charge.

The balcony was huge, which was such a treat, and the rooms were lovely. Comfortable beds and a good bathroom too. Breakfast was fantastic, especially the coffee and fruit. I’d definitely recommend staying here in Lipari.

The rooftop was great, and the rooms were pleasant and spacious. Staff were especially caring and helpful. It’s about a five minute walk to the tourist port and ten minutes to the main street.
