Daniele is friendly and very helpful, which makes the shortcomings a shame. The property feels dated and poorly maintained, with little attention to detail. The room refrigerator doesn't cool, and the air conditioning has a flip switch that I doubt meets standards. The shower has no door or towel hook, and the bathroom fixtures and shower tray are dilapidated. The double bed is good, but the cots are worn. It's a B&B without the second B, since there's no breakfast. As they might say at a school reunion, “he has potential but he doesn't commit.”

Daniele, the host, is kind and helpful, and the location is excellent: just 10 meters from a good pastry shop and 30 meters from the historic center. The rooms are decent, though some things need fixing in rooms like Panarea. The refrigerator doesn't cool, and there's no air conditioning. The double bed is good, but the cots are a bit worn. It's a good B&B, though breakfast isn't included.

Cockroaches everywhere! Absolutely not. On our first day in the first-floor room, I was lucky we got back late, because otherwise I might have gone to sleep without seeing them, and who knows where they would've ended up. Both the bedroom and bathroom French windows were firmly shut. I'm phobic and know cockroaches are found on the islands, so I'm very careful. I saw at least two disappear into cracks in the frame, so keeping the windows closed didn't help much. We called the owner even though it was late. By 3 a.m., after we explained the problem, he didn't know how to help and went back to sleep. We packed our bags and left. They need to pay attention, clean properly, and get pest control in right away!

The Stromboli room was spacious enough, bright, and in a great spot, just a two-minute walk from Marina Corta port. But the bathroom had a very annoying air backflow that caused a strong smell. The shower curtain was old and dirty, and there wasn't much hand soap. The place could be remarkable, but it needs more attention to detail. Without these problems, I'd definitely recommend it.
