The location worked really well for the piste and bus stop, with nice restaurants just around the corner. Still, after many visits to Livigno and knowing what's available to rent, we won't return. There are plenty of other options. The cottage felt poorly equipped and badly in need of renovation. The beds were uncomfortable, the linen had holes, the bathroom was below standard, there was no wardrobe, and nowhere to dry clothes after skiing. It was also very expensive for what we got, nowhere near the luxury we expected. After we complained, they offered a €300 discount on a future stay, about 10% of what we paid. That would bring it to roughly €2,700 a week, which still isn't worth it. To me, this is a €1,200-1,400-a-week cottage at most. The photo shows the house. Our apartment was under the flat roof between the two buildings, to the left of the right-hand building.

The bus stop is directly across from the apartments, though the main ski lifts are a bit of a walk away. We were on an upper floor for two weeks in February for skiing. The rooms were quite small but clean, and all that walking wasn't necessarily a bad thing. There was also a curious cat around, and we called him Basilio :).

The staff were friendly and tried to respond to what we asked for, but the apartment itself was disappointing. It was clean, though old, poorly maintained, and badly designed. We were a family of five staying for five days. We booked through “Apartments Astra,” which seemed to cover a mix of a few dozen apartments. We couldn't see which unit we'd get until after reserving and paying, and there was no free cancellation. The place we were given looked nothing like most of the photos and wasn't appealing. The kitchen items were a mismatched assortment, with different-looking plates, forks, and knives, and some were broken. A few bathroom tiles were broken too. The towels and bed linen seemed very heavily used. There wasn't much light, only a few windows, and hardly anywhere to hang towels. The bathroom had no door key, and the only mirror in the house was in that room.

After skiing, you'd expect hot water in the shower, but we only got warm water. The Wi-Fi didn't work, the apartment walls were paper thin, and there was nowhere warm to leave ski boots. Check your booking carefully, since you might be given a different apartment from the one you reserved. I definitely won't be coming back.

Really lovely and cosy.
