The facilities may be good, but I never got to try them. I had a “Free Cancellation” booking, and getting the refund turned into a nightmare. After more than 30 days and several reminders, I finally got a response. The hotel said it couldn't refund my credit card and insisted on a bank transfer, then sent less than the full amount, holding back €27 for “bank fees.” When I questioned the deduction, the owner, Ivan, was very rude. He lectured me about planning trips and checking terms more carefully to save him administrative work, and complained about the time and energy my refund took. I felt he was arguing over a small amount instead of honoring the cancellation policy, and the way he handled the delay was unprofessional. Update after Booking.com support resolved it (22.4.26): Booking.com confirmed that I was right and issued the refund themselves after the hotel repeatedly refused. That settles the matter for me and shows how poorly management, especially Ivan, handled it. I found it pathetic that the hotel let such a small sum damage its reputation, and that the owner chose to lecture me rather than take responsibility for the delays. If a dispute comes up, I worry this host would rather troll guests than resolve it professionally. There are plenty of nearby hotels in Livigno that treat guests and their policies with more respect.
