The head waiter was amazing, and the interior was nice. The food was good, with friendly staff who had a sense of humour, and the wines were high quality. The restaurant goes for Michelin-style presentation, but the flavours were missing that extra something. The sommelier was very busy and lost track a couple of times of how many wines we were having. My girlfriend had a pairing of 4, and I had 5. She blamed it on being occupied with a large group, which was a shame to hear as another guest because it made us feel less important.

The venison spaghetti, salt cod ravioli, and pigeon were our favourites. Everything was so delicious, and the chefs are very talented. We loved Camana Veglia so much that we went for dinner twice, and it was the best meal we had in Livigno. Service was amazing both times. The lovely Moroccan man who served us was friendly and helped us with the menu, and the sommelier was great too, helping us choose delicious local wines. We’d come back to Livigno just to eat there again.

The tasting menu was a lot to get through, with five courses and a sorbet between the first course and the main. Every plate was delicious, and I only wish the portions had been smaller since it was painful to leave some unfinished. The value was great compared with a few star-rated restaurants I’ve tried. We came because of a positive Michelin guide review and weren’t disappointed. The restaurant and hotel felt cozy and stylish, with a modern touch. I’ll definitely return next time I’m in Livigno.

The beef fillet and veal kidneys were exceptional, though some of the other dishes didn’t reach the same level. All the waiters were friendly and accommodating, and the service was wonderful. A nice, traditional dinner experience.
