Hotel Grifone

The Easter “pomeriggio” was the highlight of our fantastic stay at Hotel Grifone. After a full day skiing, we were greeted with a generous spread of burgers, wine, and plenty of delicious options, all complimentary as part of the Easter celebration. The food was outstanding, and such a thoughtful gesture. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, service is excellent, and the attention to detail makes a real difference. Hospitality like this is rare. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely be back!

A very nice place outside town, with lovely staff and a brilliant taxi service to the slopes. The room was great, the spa was cool too, and the food was ok. It’s a 4-star hotel that feels like 5-star for the price.

The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and having a kitchenette makes it easy to cater for yourself. The beds are firm and left us rested, though they could be upgraded in the near future for an even better stay. Wifi was fast and stable, which matters since there’s no cellular connection otherwise. There are two bar and lounge areas, two on-site dining options, one casual and one formal, plus quiet reading areas with big windows for taking in the views. The on-site fitness center, wellness center, and indoor pool were great. This was the most amazing hotel stay I’ve had in a while.

A few things that made this place so good: the spa was amazing, the food excellent, and the staff professional and kind. They speak English, too. We went during Christmas break and there was a lovely Christmas Eve aperitivi with music, food, wine, eggnog, and great sushi, made fresh by their sushi chef. As someone who loves Asian food and sushi, I thought it was some of the best I’ve had. Their dining options cover various cuisines, and they recently opened a gastropub-style restaurant and added an Asian section serving sushi and other dishes. There’s a ski spot very close by, with hotel shuttles, and the staff kindly gave us rides to Corvara when we asked. We also enjoyed the gym and the ping pong and basketball space in their sala grifone. The hotel is under new management as of this winter, and I didn’t run into any problems from previous years. There wasn’t a boring day at the Dolomites resort. I’ll definitely be back in February for the Olympics!
