Dimora, overlooking Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, was a comfortable and well located base for our spring break in Lucca and trips to the nearby Ville Lucchesi. The spacious, modern rooms are set inside the old Roman arena, and they were pleasantly warm on cool spring days. Our host greeted us warmly and provided everything we needed to stay independently. We came by Nightjet to Florence and then took a short local train. The only disappointment was Lucca’s rather worn train station. Around the piazza, there are cafés, aperitivo spots, and traditional restaurants. Once the day visitors leave, the area feels wonderfully local. The weather was chilly, so we couldn't make much use of outdoor seating, but the atmosphere was still unforgettable. Highly recommended. The rooms are quiet, the amenities and heating are thoughtful, and there's plenty of space.

The hosts made everything easy from the warm welcome to the clear parking directions, and the room had all the little things we needed, from coffee and tea to extra pillows and full toiletries. It was spotless, the bed was really comfortable, and there was both air conditioning and an elevator. The hotel looks simple at first, but it’s much more thoughtfully equipped than that. We liked it enough to add another night. For the second one, we moved into a suite overlooking the amphitheater. The view was breathtaking, and the double glazing kept it peaceful despite the activity below. Perfect location too. Thanks, Claudia, for such a lovely stay. We hope to come back.

We found a good nearby restaurant for an omelette at breakfast, and the apartment itself was comfortable, with everything we needed. The host was very nice. It’s close to Amfiteatro and convenient for restaurants and the other sights. Such a fabulous spot.

This place has made my list of stays I know I can trust. The host was especially warm and generous, the kind of welcome I don’t often get from accommodation managers. The first-floor Porto Elisa suite has windows at both the front and back, so there’s plenty of light. The renovation is carefully done: some old masonry remains visible, while most of the rooms have fresh white plaster. The linens were crisp, and the kitchen and bathroom had modern, good-quality essentials. And the location on the Anfiteatro is hard to beat. I’d book with complete confidence.
