Al Porto di Lucca B&B

The hosts were the best, and the hospitality went way beyond what I expected. The room was beautiful, with a balcony and a comfortable bed, and everything was very clean. Breakfast was amazing, better than at five-star hotels, and the center of Lucca is just five minutes away. This is the best place I’ve stayed in Italy. I’ll miss it and will definitely come back when I’m here again.

The owners are great, and breakfast each morning was excellent. The house is beautiful, with rustic bedrooms that are a little small, while the renovated bathrooms are spacious and have strong water pressure. You can walk to both the train station and the inside of the city walls in under five minutes, which is especially handy for traveling in and out of Lucca by train. For a comfortable, charming, convenient stay, the value is 10/10. I’d absolutely stay again on another trip to Lucca.

It’s hard to find enough words to praise B&B Al Porto di Lucca. The breakfasts had a great selection of delicious, top-quality food, plus excellent coffee and tea. Giovanna also gave us dependable suggestions for places to visit and unusual restaurants. The 18th-century building is beautifully kept and only a five-minute walk from Lucca’s center. Francesco and Giovanna were professional and attentive, but also warm and sincere. Even 10/10 doesn’t feel like enough for our stay.

We spent eight nights here and would happily return. The hosts and staff work together so well, and everyone was gracious and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They also shared plenty of tips for making the most of the area. The house is beautiful and full of interest, yet the stay feels peaceful and calm. Breakfast was always excellent, with a little surprise or local specialty every day. The garden beneath a clear blue Tuscan morning sky was inspiring. Our room was spotless, the bed comfortable, the walk-in shower great, and there was plenty of storage for a longer visit. Thank you for such a lovely time. This is why we love Italy and its people.
