Lovely location, and the people there are so welcoming.

One star, and even that’s generous. I stayed one night in this nightmare of a place, surrounded by mold, dust, and hygiene that felt straight out of the post-war years. The moldy smell hits you immediately and just hangs around. The dust was everywhere, furniture and chairs included. It felt neglected, as if the last proper clean had happened during some medieval siege. The bathroom was its own ordeal. There’s no shower stall, just a showerhead out in the open, and the floor turns into Lake Massaciuccoli whenever you wash. The curtain doesn’t solve much. Toiletries were just as grim: bottles already used, soaps without caps, and half-empty shampoo left behind. The fridge was switched off, with an already-opened drink inside. I shut it carefully, wondering what might be growing in there. The white towel, supposedly clean, had strange old stains. I left it unused and wondered what it had been through. There was also a dismantled fan in the master bedroom, in pieces and buried under two inches of dust. I cleaned it, put it together, and turned it on myself so I wouldn’t die of the heat. At that point I felt less like a guest and more like the property’s maintenance man. If you enjoy abandonment, dark humor, and a spiritual challenge, this might be your place. If you’re after a relaxing holiday, it’s a nightmare. The one good thing was getting out the next day.

Gessica has been generous and kind every time I’ve stayed, and I’ve never had trouble getting her help. The place is well located, and I always found the kitchen, bathroom, living room, and bedrooms in order. There’s even Wi-Fi and a stove, things some pricier properties don’t provide. From my own experience, the effort is clear, and problems mentioned in a couple of negative reviews seem to come from other guests rather than the owner. I’d return a thousand times. The value is perfect.

The hostess was pleasant, on time, and helpful. She let us pick our rooms and suggested a pizzeria that turned out to be very good. I’m sharing these personal observations in the hope they help her improve the place, not to be mean or dismissive. We stayed on August 16th, my partner, our four children, and me. The apartment is on the third floor, and though we understand heat rises, the small fans were useless. The house held onto so much heat that the children and I barely slept, even though we live in the south of France and are used to warm weather. Cleanliness was generally okay, but you shouldn’t be too picky. We found a moldy box of cakes in the kitchen. The bathroom needs a complete overhaul: mold on the grout and ceiling, a showerhead in the middle rather than a proper shower, and a curtain that doesn’t cover the toilet. The shower mat was covered in mold and should be thrown away. I don’t understand why she rents to several people at once when there’s only one bathroom and toilet. The noisy doors could perhaps use small seals, so strangers sharing the place don’t disturb one another.
