The old town is an easy walk away, and the location really is fantastic. Signora Ernestina was a gem, and the place was clean, friendly, organic, and gluten-free. The garage costs €10 a night. Weekends brought a market right outside until 8 pm, while Monday morning had some traffic noise. Nights were quiet, though. It can feel a bit plush, and the market may not suit anyone who likes to sleep late.

That huge terrace was the best surprise, the photos really don't do it justice. We booked this apartment on a whim at 7 p.m. and were amazed by how spacious and lovingly furnished it was. Everything was very clean, and it had all the essentials for cooking, plus good coffee, tea, and even hot chocolate. The owner is a lovely lady who takes wonderful care of her guests. We'd happily come back again and again. :)

The owners refunded everything, even though we'd missed the free cancellation deadline. We had booked the apartment for two days but, because of circumstances beyond our control, had to cancel just the day before leaving. That kind of understanding isn't something everyone would offer. A heartfelt thank you. When we get the chance to visit Lucca, we'll book here again.

It felt like sleeping out on the street because there was no soundproofing at all. On top of that, our room smelled of sewage or something rotten. The owner herself said it was an ongoing problem. I hate leaving such a bad review, but the stay was terrible.

We were close to the city centre, and there was private parking available. The apartment itself was charming and welcoming, with a lovely, roomy terrace. The owner was very friendly and helpful.
