The balcony looks out over Lucca’s rooftops, and the apartment is beautifully furnished. It’s five flights up a steep staircase with no lift, but I thought it was well worth the climb.

We came from Ireland and stayed in August 2017 with our two children. The apartment was clean, well equipped, and right in the centre, with fantastic views from the balcony and kitchen tables. It suited the four of us perfectly, and we hope to come back someday. There’s no lift and a lot of steps, so you need to be reasonably fit and mobile, but it’s worth it if you can manage them.

We spent our evenings on the terrace with a glass of wine, taking in the lovely city view. The apartment itself was very well equipped, and staying there was a wonderful experience. The owners were always available when we needed anything, and communication with them was excellent. I loved the place!

Even climbing those five flights of stairs didn’t spoil it. Everything was perfect.
