Maiori Dream Rental

The room was great, and I loved the rental. It was spacious and nice, with a beach nearby that was a great place to jump into the water. There’s also a cute little town with shops and restaurants, and a pretty great panoramic view from the rooftop. We arrived a little early, and a man drove ahead of us to show where to park. He dropped off the maid on the way, even though we’d been told the room was ready. When we got upstairs, three maids were still cleaning, so we left our luggage. The man suggested we see the rooftop, and all four of us squeezed into the tight elevator with him. It stopped, and the lights went out. Don’t use the elevator. We were stuck for a good 30 minutes before the ambulance came to get us out. It was at least 100 degrees inside, and the man opened the door to let air in. After we got out, he showed us the rooftop, then quickly left before we could ask for a discount or a free night. Aside from that, the room was great.

The apartment’s best feature is its location, just 30 meters from the beach, and Maiori itself is nice. We enjoyed our June stay with the children, at the start of the main season. There wasn’t loud disco music or young motorbike riders until 4 a.m. yet, though the garbage truck came noisily for 20 minutes every morning. Outside noise comes straight into the rooms, with no protection at all. You hear every car and motorcycle, and that’s the worst part. The three air-conditioning units work effectively. The bathrooms look like UFOs in the old, lovely building, and are a bit weird but almost work well. There’s some water leakage and a problem with the doors closing, but overall they’re okay. The value for money is good, the location excellent, and the apartment quality somewhere between average and good.

Katia was a fantastic host, so helpful and nice. I really recommend staying here. The accommodation has a lovely mountain view and is close to the centre. Our room was clean and had the option to cook. There’s a large terrace with sun loungers and cafe tables. Erika and Albin
