Piccolo Hotel

We've stayed here twice now, in regular rooms both with and without a balcony, and the location is a big reason we came back. It's outside Malcesine, away from the crowded town center. The pool and lake access are peaceful, and breakfast on a balcony with that view over the water is so relaxing. Room choice matters, though. Our room without a balcony had just a window facing a wall. On the lowest floor, people can walk right past a balcony on their way to the terrace and pool. This time our room was beside the stairs, and it was quite loud. We could easily hear people upstairs and next door, even when they were just talking. There are two parking areas, so you can find a spot close to the hotel.

The family running the hotel couldn't have been more helpful, and the service was excellent. We stayed three nights in July in a large, modern, very comfortable room with a wonderful lake view. The hotel's location is great, with superb views across the water. You can walk to Malcesiine in an easy 40 minutes along a pleasant lakeside path, or take the tourist bus, which runs every hour until late in the evening. I'd highly recommend staying here on Lake Garda.

For me, being close to the kiteclub and Torbole was a real plus as someone who loves watersports. We stayed six nights and really enjoyed the holiday. The staff were very friendly, and our superior room on the third floor with a lake view was beautiful and well worth it. Breakfast offered lots of choices and was very good. The one drawback was how cold the breakfast room felt, under 20 degrees, on every day but the last. That's why I gave four stars. ☺️🤙🏼

The owners, who run the hotel as a family, were courteous, kind, and helpful. I'd come back if I get the chance. It's just north of Malcesine, with beautiful rooms and magnificent lake views. The restaurant is top class, with a limited menu of excellent dishes at very reasonable prices. One order gives enough for two people, and there's a well-stocked bar too. Guests can borrow bicycles for a ride along the lakeside path to and from Malcesine, which helps burn off dinner. There's off-street parking, and Wi-Fi is available in the reception and restaurant/bar area. Breakfast is buffet-style, with a wide range of exquisite pastries and cakes, handy if you skipped dinner the night before.
