Villa Emma Malcesine

Really glad we chose to stay here. It's about a seven-minute walk into town, and our room had an en-suite bathroom. We didn't need the air conditioning, so I can't say how it is. The location was quiet, and Sara was a fun, very helpful hostess. There's a pleasant terrace to relax on. A lift is available, though it's outside the building. Breakfast was a lovely surprise: cakes, quiches, muesli, yogurt, tea, coffee, bread, eggs made any style, and very thin pancetta or speck-style bacon. There should be something to suit most people. Sara also went out of her way to help us charge our EV, which was a real bonus. She could provide trickle charging on site. Faster chargers, including 7 kW ones, are dotted along the lake, and there are 50 kW-plus chargers at Affi, about a 30-minute drive away. We'd absolutely come again. Thanks!

We stayed for four nights in 2016, and Sara, who runs the hotel with her family, made it a fantastic experience for my girlfriend and me. We had booked a room overlooking Lake Garda and got one on the top floor. The view was incredible, and the room was exceptionally clean and tidy. Breakfast had plenty of choices each morning, and we could eat indoors or outside. Sara also offered a hot tub outside for an extra charge, with strawberries and a bottle of Prosecco to enjoy. It made for a romantic evening. When I asked to borrow a couple of small champagne glasses for a trip where I planned to propose, Sara was more than happy to help. It made the proposal perfect. I'd highly recommend Villa Emma as a base for exploring Malcesine and Lake Garda. One thing to know: Sara has a dog that can wander freely in the hotel corridor. I don't mind dogs, and it was very well behaved, but this may matter to people with allergies.

The hotel had everything we needed, and the staff were friendly. Our only slight issue was that our personal bathroom was across the hall rather than attached to the room. It wasn't a big deal, just not what I prefer. Only two of the ten rooms are set up this way.

The staff were lovely, and the room was clean. From this beautiful spot with gorgeous views, it's an easy walk into town and only a short stroll to most attractions. Highly recommended :-)
