B&B Domus Deiana

I booked through Booking.com, but it wasn’t clear whether breakfast was included in the deal or not. I chose the place because of the reviews and the very affordable price. The room was small, and the furniture was barely usable. The bathroom was small and had no bidet. Shower water sometimes dwindled to a trickle, then came back after a few minutes. Cleanliness was okay, breakfast was basic, and the price felt fair.

The owner was so kind and friendly, and we’d happily come back. Domus Deiana is right in the center of Mamoiada, just a few minutes from Fonni and Nuoro. Our room had all the comforts, was exceptionally clean, and had typical regional furnishings. There’s also a reading corner with a well-stocked bookcase. Breakfast was excellent, with both sweet and savory local products.

There were books in our room, which was small but comfortable, clean, and charming, with lovely attention to detail. Traditional objects and costumes decorate the lobby. Breakfast was plentiful, varied, and excellent, with something for every taste. We even got a delicious homemade cake. It was a wonderful stay.

The breakfast was a real surprise. I’ve stayed at other B&Bs, but never had such an excellent spread: cured meats, cheeses, biscuits, warm tarts, bread, spianata, butter, jams, yogurt, coffee, tea, herbal teas, and milk and coffee. The rooms were clean, with en-suite bathrooms that are small but distinctive. There’s no bidet, but the shower is nice, and the place seems right for a few days. The outside might put you off at first, but inside it has an old-fashioned feel, with antique furnishings that reminded me of our grandmothers’ homes. The owners were very kind and helpful. One suggestion, from someone who has worked in hotels and knows both the manager’s and guest’s side: please give the exterior a little attention. It’s a shame to arrive feeling unsure about going in when the place is so comfortable once you’re inside. Thanks for everything, and congratulations on your hospitality.
