Elisa made a big difference to our time in Maremma. She gave us useful travel tips from the start and answered all our questions, which helped since we didn’t know the area. She served breakfast herself, was always smiling and happy to accommodate our requests, and the owners’ cats and Rocky the dog kept us company. Breakfast was plentiful, with homemade rusks, jams, cakes, yogurt, fruit juices, and more. We could also refill our bottles with still or sparkling water whenever we needed. There’s an option to have dinner together with everyone, with a changing menu of appetizer, first and second courses, dessert, coffee, and an after-dinner drink for €30 per person. Our room had air conditioning and a large window with a lovely morning view over the Tuscan countryside. The bed and pillows were very soft. It was simply furnished with a small desk, wardrobe, and bedside tables. The bathroom was small but had what we needed, though no extras like a hairdryer. A few things didn’t work for us: there was no TV, the shower setup wasn’t really a proper walk-in shower and meant we had to mop the bathroom after each shower, and sound carried through the room. The welcoming start was lovely, too, including being told we could pay at the end of our stay. There’s convenient parking on arrival, but the final stretch of road is unpaved and could be tricky in the rain, especially if you don’t have a large car. The location suits a quiet break in the Maremma countryside. For the beaches and Argentario, bear in mind the nearest beaches are at least a half-hour drive away. We had a pleasant surprise of a stay, and the place left us wanting to come back. We recommend it.

We all ate together at one table with the other guests, and the food was truly special. Everything was homemade, from breakfast and pici to the meat, wine, and grappa. The rooms were clean and smelled fresh, and the hill above Manciano was so quiet and peaceful. It’s well placed for visiting old villages and the Saturnia hot springs, and the sea is about 30 minutes away. We’ll definitely be back.

The owners were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. It felt like a comfortable, familiar place, with clean rooms and a good night’s rest. Breakfast was homemade and excellent, served on the veranda with a lovely view over Maremma.

We really appreciated Elisa and Santina and how welcoming the family was. They made the place feel relaxed and family-friendly, and the setting is quiet, surrounded by nature and the Tuscan countryside. Breakfast was a treat: homemade desserts and jams, especially the superb pomegranate one, plus savory choices, tasty cured meats, excellent bread, and their delicious olive oil. Our room was clean and inviting. It’s a handy central base for the coast and the medieval villages inland. A great choice for a relaxing break, and we’re grateful for the stay.
