Andrea, the owner, was kind, helpful, and full of suggestions for places nearby and the many trattorias in the area. The agriturismo is tucked into the greenery of the Tuscan Maremma at Poderi di Montemerano, in the province of Grosseto, and is a lovely spot to relax in the quiet countryside. The rooms are clean, pleasant, and quiet, each with a little private outdoor corner. It’s about 10 km from the Saturnia thermal baths. Montemerano, an intact medieval village just 3 km away, is certainly worth a visit. Prices are very good.

From here the view reaches all the way from the Tuscan archipelago to the summit of Mount Amiata. The village itself is stunning, with big old oaks and tree-lined stretches alongside narrow lanes lined with typical windbreaks. Homes and settlements are scattered across the surrounding hills.
