LA VALIGIA bed & bike

Breakfast had a great choice of sweet and savory food, with fresh local ingredients and even eggs straight from the farmer. Our room was new and spotless. Andrea, the owner, and his family were so kind and helpful, sharing lots of suggestions for places to see and eat nearby, and every tip worked out. We had a wonderful stay. :)

We only meant to stay three nights, but added a fourth, and would gladly return. The bike rides around the area were breathtaking, and our bikes had their own garage where we could charge them overnight. La Valigia is beautifully set by the river, with a big old tree out front. It's renovated, well cared for, and family-run. Our roomy, carefully furnished space had a separate kitchen beside a lovely bathroom, plus a quote about free souls by C. Bukowski on the wall. Breakfast was tasty and balanced. We also enjoyed chatting in English and Italian with the friendly owners. The rooms, food, service, and surroundings were all great.

The owner was very friendly and helpful, and spoke English. We stayed for 10 days and found this a great base for trips to the lake, mountains, and even nearby Switzerland. Breakfast was delicious and Italian-style, with boiled eggs, tomatoes, and fruit available if requested. The rooms were modern, spacious, and clean. We highly recommend the place.

Andrea and his family made us feel welcome right away with their helpfulness. We were there for just one night for the Morbegno in Cantina event, and the location worked well. The new property had a large, clean, tidy room with everything we needed. Breakfast included excellent homemade cakes and pastries, and the meal around the table turned into a nice conversation with the other guests and kind hosts. They also told us about excursions in the area. I highly recommend staying here.
