La Celeste Galeria

Breakfast was better than wonderful. Veronica puts out an amazing spread, from yogurt, fruit, and granola to savory filled bread, croissants, and all kinds of Moorish sweet Italian breakfast treats. The coffee was good too. After sightseeing, the pool and garden were just right for collapsing and relaxing. La Celeste Galeria feels a million miles away from the trucks and warehouses around it, even though Mantua is one of the EU’s largest goods distribution centers. On the drive there we wondered if we’d made a wise choice, but once we reached the white gravel driveway and caught a glimpse of the pool, it was clear we’d arrived somewhere lovely. Veronica welcomed us and gave us plenty of information about Mantua, including the quick drive into town, where to park, and how to catch the free bus to the center. She also advised us where to park in Verona for the opera in the Roman arena, about a 30-minute drive away. Her stories about the Gonzagas added color to our sightseeing. Our room was spacious and comfortable, beautifully decorated, with large windows overlooking the garden and pool. The house has a warm, eclectic style throughout. We loved La Celeste Galeria, Mantua, and Veronica, and plan to return for more of Mantua’s history and a longer stay. Mantua felt like an undiscovered gem, not overcrowded, and it exceeded our expectations. It’s a wonderful B&B in a city that feels like Italy’s best kept secret.

The host and owner was gracious and so helpful. The breakfast was delicious, with a spread that looked like it belonged in a food magazine. It’s a lovely, quiet historic home in the Lombard countryside, and there’s a beautiful pool too.

The pool and garden were a peaceful oasis after busy mornings of sightseeing and excursions. Our spacious room was wonderful, with a stunning bathroom, and the whole place was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Veronica welcomed us warmly when we stayed at La Celeste Galeria in July 2025 for a concert in Mantua. She made us feel at home, shared lots of local knowledge, and suggested places to visit and eat. She really knows the area. Each morning she served a delightful breakfast with plenty of choice, including fresh fruit, cereals, and cooked dishes. Veronica has such a warm presence, and we really enjoyed getting to know her. The place is conveniently close to Mantua’s center, with easy road access for day trips to Venice, Lake Garda, and beyond. We’re grateful for her generous hospitality and will definitely return when we visit again. Thank you, Veronica! x

The garden and its sweeping pool are wonderful, and the rooms are clean and beautiful. It’s peaceful and pleasant here, and you feel at home. Veronica is a sweet, very hospitable host. I highly recommend trying lunch and dinner in-house, the food is much tastier and more local than what you get in restaurants. Definitely recommend staying here!
