La Cervetta

The owners are friendly and genuinely helpful. My room was immaculate, comfortable, and cozy. One of the best places I’ve stayed.

Luigino and Mara were the best hosts I’ve ever met. They’re smart, friendly, pleasant, and helpful, and their suggestions for restaurants, bakeries, sights, and scenic spots were much appreciated. On our first day Luigino told us, “it’s our home,” and that’s how we felt, at home, only better. On our last day he even took us on a special tour of Mantua to say goodbye to the city. We loved Mantua all the more thanks to them. I travel often for both work and pleasure, and tend to be critical of places that aren’t traditional hotels, even without meaning to. But I can’t find anything to criticize at La Cervetta. I’ve never felt better. It’s ideally located, just steps from the center, clean, well furnished, comfortable, and equipped with everything you need. There was liquid and bar soap, makeup remover pads, and sanitary pads too. This was a real Mantuan hospitality experience from arrival to goodbye, and the breakfast was the best I’ve had at a private place, even better than a hotel. There were Mantuan specialties, juice, milk, yogurt, all sorts of coffee, toast, fresh fruit, tarts, cereal bars, granola, and just about anything else you could imagine. If you’re planning to visit Mantua, I’d say look no further. Reading this review means you’ve found the right place.

Mr. Luigino was kind and helpful, a lovely finishing touch to the stay. The studio apartment was quite spacious and had everything you could need, like home. Set on a quiet alley, the B&B made for a peaceful visit, while its location near Mantua’s historic center meant we could walk to several sights in just a few minutes.

There was plenty to eat for breakfast, including fresh croissants and delicious homemade biscuits. The owner really pampered us, even picking us up when we arrived and taking us back to the station when we left, since Mantua is very inconvenient to drive around. The apartment felt like home. It’s just outside the city center but an easy walk away, and its tucked-away setting is peaceful and quiet. It had all the personal care basics, including towels, a hair dryer, makeup remover, and more. On the table we found a bowl of fresh seasonal fruit, plus a coffee maker, cappuccino, tea, and herbal teas. The kitchen counter also had snacks, chocolates, and sweets. A truly satisfying place to spend a few days visiting Mantua. It was hard to leave.
