BB La Pilastrina

The place is quiet, with plenty of parking, though breakfast was average and the shower was difficult to use because the water pressure was weak. If you’re bringing a dog, be aware there’s a €15 nightly charge, and they’ll make you feel bad about how VERY difficult it’ll be for them to tidy the room. That didn’t feel as welcoming as they claim.

I was repeatedly and insistently reminded about not smoking in the room and keeping my dog on a leash even in the garden. There was also an extra charge for bringing a dog, as if I might let him pee in the room. The gate had to be opened and shut using a chain, the furniture was outdated, and the stairs were narrow and steep. They seemed concerned about cleaning, but vacuuming a room at the end of a stay should be standard.

The website says pets are allowed, but they’re not made to feel welcome, and they made us feel bad for having dogs. We found no parking, with 2 cm of snow covering it, so we had to leave the car on the street. We decided not to stay after all, even though we’d paid for the room in full.

The house was spotless, and the rooms were beautifully furnished. The owners were professional and extremely helpful, always trying to make us feel at home. B&B La Pilastrina is on a hill, just 5 minutes from the center of Maranello, and offers style, hospitality, and peace and quiet. I’ll definitely return if I’m in need of a place here again.
