Maratea is an enchanting spot between the sea and the mountains, and the property has an impressive view of Christ the Redeemer. I still enjoyed my one-night stay, even though it’s within the traffic-restricted area, and the location is a real advantage when booking in Maratea. But compared with the places we stayed before in Palinuro and Tropea, €130 for a triple room with breakfast felt unjustifiable based on the location alone. The services need attention: there was no Wi-Fi in the rooms, the old 19-inch TV had a decoder that didn’t work, the air conditioning was ineffective, and the shower was small and awkward. Breakfast was plentiful, but nothing special.

There’s a lovely panoramic view, and breakfast service was good. The place is at the entrance to Maratea, beside a bus stop and the community center, with a public market there occasionally.

Maratea’s center is enchanting, and the Cardinal's residence has the charm you’d hope for in a special destination. The service was excellent, and the staff were qualified. I’d definitely recommend it.
