The staff were friendly, and the location was great value for this part of Elba. We liked being close to two lovely beaches and a little town with a few restaurants and a general store. One beach is a big stretch of rock where we went every evening to watch the sunset. Breakfast was decent. I don’t think they have a restaurant now, but they recommended nearby Nassa, which was delicious. Our room was fine, with plenty of storage and air conditioning that worked well. We had a small patio outside where we dried our clothes and beach things. Housekeeping came by daily and kept the room and hotel clean. One of the older women, maybe an owner, remembered that I liked a certain packaged yogurt and brought it to me each day. Lorena at the front desk was so sweet and helpful when we wanted to buy wine from them to take to the beach. They also rent beach towels. The front desk closes at a set time, but that worked fine for us since we didn’t need much service or attention around the clock.

We enjoyed the sea view from our balcony, and the room was cleaned daily with towels changed regularly. The people were lovely, and breakfast was good. There was no kettle or cups in the room, though, and when we asked reception for hot water, they charged us 3 Euro. The hotel can also book beach sunbeds for 30 Euro. When I checked with the beach service, they said booking sunbeds cost 20 Euro, so the hotel keeps 10 Euro. It felt like they were squeezing money out of me.

The staff were friendly and efficient, the rooms spotless, and breakfast was great. The beds are very comfortable if you like hard mattresses. The view is lovely, and the hotel is close to the beach, with plenty of covered parking for vehicles higher than 2m. The only small nuisance was the glass bottles being smashed when the bins are collected at 7am. That’s not much of a problem if you’re up early.

We were happy to stay several days in our small, inexpensive room. It was lovely, and the women working there were very friendly. The garden was wonderful, and breakfast with a sea view was really nice. It started at 8:00, a bit late for us, since we had lots of little trips planned and wanted to set off before the heat. S. Andrea beach is nice for families, but it was already packed by the end of June.

We stayed at Hotel Ilio from 17 to 20 July and were really happy with the four-person room. It had two separate bedrooms, both with air conditioning, and the private terrace looked just like the photos on the hotel website. The sea is less than a two-minute walk away. Breakfast was very good, and the hotel employees were friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely come back to Hotel Ilio.
