Albergo Majarëi

The Ladin food and culture are still a big part of Hotel Majarei, and one evening we got to try a traditional Ladin snack before dinner. The kitchen kept up its high standard across all seven dinners, and breakfast was just as good, with fruit, cereals, yoghurt, cold cuts, cheese, plenty of bread, and excellent coffee from the self-service bean-to-cup machine. It was lovely returning for another Kronplatz ski holiday, as we’ve done since 2018. The family-run place has had some refurbishment but still feels homely. The ski room has boot warmers, and the ski bus stop is at the end of the driveway. Getting to the town centre takes about 10-15 minutes on foot in shoes. The bedroom was well furnished, with plenty of towels, the essentials, a hot shower, and a comfortable bed and mattress. There aren’t many sockets, just three in the bedroom, two by the bed and one for the TV, plus one in the bathroom for the hairdryer. That can be awkward when you’re charging several devices. Still, a great host and wonderful food.

The hotel isn’t right in the town centre, but it’s an easy walk, and having the ski bus stop just outside was really handy. Great spot for a ski holiday, with fantastic cooking, fabulous food, and top quality staff.
