We felt at home here, surrounded by nature and a lovely family atmosphere. There’s a big outdoor garden with lots of room to unwind, and the room was spotless and carefully looked after, right down to the embroidered sheets. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade pastries, cakes and jams, served on an embroidered tablecloth. Maria Nella was so kind and quick to answer our questions. If something was missing, we only had to ask and she’d bring it with a smile. The rest of her family were lovely too. We had a wonderful stay.

The breakfast has a great range, and if you’re lucky you might get to try bunet, one of Piedmont’s classic desserts. This family-run farmhouse feels warm and welcoming, with an old-world character. The rooms and all their furnishings and accessories have been thoughtfully put together. It’s in a beautiful spot among the Piedmont hills, between the Turin and Asti regions. I’d happily recommend it to future guests.

At Cascina nel bosco, the rural feel is shaped by a real eye for aesthetics, balancing nature and art. You get warmth and freedom, along with a touch of extravagance and elegance. There’s plenty of countryside nearby, with trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the welcome is warm, and breakfast comes with delicious homemade cakes and jams. It’s an ideal place to feel at home. Hard to ask for much more.

The valley around this enchanting place is beautiful, lush and pristine. The owners are wonderful, and the rooms have a lovely rustic style that feels unique. Every detail seems to have been thought through, with everything in its place. The plants and animals give it that genuine farmhouse feel.

I’m not sure what happened, but the glowing reviews don’t match what we experienced. The owners replied while they were on the train and agreed to host us, leaving things to their daughter. I asked whether I could bring my dog and was told yes, but that they’d need to keep their own dog locked up because “it’s always better to be safe with females.” At 5:00 PM on Saturday, while we were still driving there, their daughter messaged to ask what we wanted for breakfast the next morning. There would be no croissants because it was Sunday. I was a bit taken aback, but accepted it. She’d said she couldn’t be there when we arrived and would hide the keys so we could let ourselves in. When we got there, the property was open and their big, beautiful dog was outside. Nobody else was around. He was the only one to greet us. I needed to let my dog out too. Mine is very quiet, but the owner on the train had made her warning clear, and I couldn’t risk the dogs meeting with nobody there. If their dog had attacked mine in its own home, it would have been in the right. We waited from 7:15 to 7:45, then, not without some insults, had no choice but to leave and drive the two hours back home. The brief look I got at the place left me very doubtful. It looked as though it had been abandoned, with greasy windows and marks everywhere. The garden was looked after, but sat completely in the sun during the day. I won’t repeat the experience and definitely can’t recommend it. Zero professionalism, completely unjustifiable.
