A heads-up for light sleepers: the church right next door rings its bells every 15 minutes, all night too. That didn’t bother us, and we had an awesome stay. The place is right on the square, with very clean, cute rooms and a simple but good breakfast. The location is great, and the staff were ready to help and answer any questions. We’ll be back next time we’re in town!

The apartment on the third floor was lovely, and the little balcony looked over the main square all the way to the sea. The woman who checked us in was really kind and helpful. But the floor clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly for a while. I usually go barefoot indoors, and within minutes my feet were black from the sticky floor. The worst part was the cleaning lady ringing the bell loudly at 8:30 a.m. and barging in, forcing us out of bed. The owner apologized and offered me a coffee, saying it was an organizational issue, but I don’t think that was what happened. It felt deliberate, as if they wanted us out as soon as possible. I won’t stay here again.

The view over Piazza San Domenico is fabulous, and the place is right in the middle of everything: the sea, restaurants, supermarkets, and two tobacconists are all close by. I’ve come back for the fourth year, and for the third time with my boyfriend. It’s just right for unwinding and getting away from the year’s hustle and bustle. The owners are always friendly, and Carmela deserves a special mention. She pampered us again and tidied our room even though we were arriving late to head to the beach. I always recommend staying here!
