Hotel - Residence San Domenico

We were there in August and had another great experience. The cleanliness was excellent, dinner was excellent too, and Domenico is a great person. The management is always available.

We’ve just wrapped up a fantastic stay and spent less than we expected for such a relaxing vacation. The food was a real highlight, well beyond what we expected. Half board is very convenient and absolutely worth it, and eating there every night was a treat. Compliments to the chef. All the staff were really friendly, and we hope to return. You’ll need a car for both the center and the beach since neither is very close.

We were five people staying at the end of July, on half board. Our mini-apartment felt homey and welcoming, and it was spotlessly clean. It was so peaceful that all we heard was birds among the olive trees, with the sea in the background. The residence is well placed, around a 15-minute walk from the center of Camerota, where there are souvenir and local-product shops, bars, ice cream places, and more. Breakfast was fresh, tasty, and varied. Dinner came to the table, with dishes made from fresh ingredients. Mr. Sergio was friendly, attentive, and always available to speak with the kitchen. The beach is close, about two minutes by shuttle or a ten-minute walk. Capogrosso Beach is well equipped, with slightly coarse sand, a gently sloping seabed, and spectacular water.

The little houses are pleasant, with balconies, and dogs are welcome. The food was tasty, with a choice of land or sea dishes each evening, so applause to the cook or cooks. But after 15 days, having just one cake for breakfast was too much. Dinner was only okay, and portions were meager, like the ten fried anchovies. Service was disorganized: arriving at 8:00 PM meant waiting until at least 9:30 PM for a first course, second course, and fruit. I left early on three nights because they weren’t hurrying. The bar being closed at 1:00 or 2:00 PM was another downside when I wanted a coffee.
