La Maiena Meran Resort

We had a lot of fun chatting with the many German holidaymakers. We seemed to be the only Americans staying there, which made the resort feel like a hidden gem. One night there was an acoustic band, too. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and Alex and Sylvio at the bar were great. Breakfast and dinner were top quality, and the spa amenities were perfect for a few days in Merano.

After a day out exploring, the immaculate rooms made for a peaceful place to come back to. The food was a real highlight, with tasty local flavors, and the staff were warm and attentive. La Maiena Meran Resort sits near lovely vineyards and scenic hiking trails, with wonderful views. A charming spot that offers both relaxation and time in nature.

The bed was the one letdown. The mattress felt much too soft, there were two mattresses and two separate blankets, and it was a little short for me at 1.82m. They brought one large blanket the next day when we asked. Otherwise, the staff were competent, kind and helpful, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious with plenty of choice. The room was modern, clean and spacious, with a large balcony. Views from the room and shared areas were amazing. Having the train station right beside the hotel was handy, though the diesel train was noisy. There are lots of ways to swim and relax, two tennis courts, bikes, several pools, and enough places to sit and lie down. A high quality, relaxing stay.

We stayed in September with my husband and another couple, and had a wonderful time. Our suite had an amazing Deck, Sauna, and hot-tub, and all the amenities were lovely. The Spa, Room, Pools, and Food were all wonderful. Looking forward to coming back in December to see the place during the Holidays.
