Horrible!!! We’re here tonight, 10/17/2018. This morning the owners of the Hassenegg put up a sign saying they wouldn’t serve the dinner included with our overnight stay. Their exact explanation was that the dining room was closed because they needed a break. Meanwhile, the owners, an older couple and a woman with a small boy-child, were eating a full family dinner in that same public dining room, with wine and candlelight. Guests were told to stay in our rooms or sit outside. There was nowhere indoors to sit, and it’s cold outside. I’ve never seen hotel owners behave so outrageously. If they were tired and needed a break, they shouldn’t have booked rooms that week. We’ll never stay here again. They didn’t provide what their website promises. We could have stayed somewhere else, but they told us they’d charge us either way if we didn’t stay because it was “high season.” They did this to about 20 different families. Please consider staying elsewhere if you’re visiting Meran. The road up to this place was treacherous to navigate, and driving it at night to look for food was out of the question. We won’t be back. If this review is removed, I’ll post another saying the same thing. I can’t believe they pulled this on their guests. The place is completely full.
