A comfortable loft in a handy spot for the historic center. Mr. Arcangelo was very kind.

The water pump in the wall behind the headboard came on every 30 seconds during the night, making a clear noise. The city's daytime sounds covered it up, but at night it kept us awake. My partner and I didn't sleep at all, even with my earplugs. Had we known, we wouldn't have stayed. This isn't a good choice if you need quiet to sleep. The second-floor room is reached by a narrow spiral staircase, so it's not suited to small children, tall people, or anyone carrying bulky bags or suitcases. It's fairly new and reasonably clean, with a large bathroom, a small fridge, and a basic kitchenette. You can put together a small breakfast, but it isn't equipped for cooking. There's no proper equipment, the non-stick coating is scratched, and the pans are long gone. The shower has no shelf for soap or shampoo. It's close to the city center, which may suit a short stay. Parking is available in the area, but free spaces nearby are hard to find since most spots are paid and the rest are taken by residents. Watch for street cleaning days, when you have to move your car. The tiny lot below the B&B has three spaces and is shared with the public, so you can use one if it's free. Breakfast is at a bar 50 meters away with a voucher for one pastry and a drink, either coffee or juice. That arrangement may suit people who like this kind of breakfast, though the pastries at Alagna aren't among Marsala's best. And if you spend a day at the beach, there's nowhere to hang your wet swimsuit and towel. Decide if it suits your needs.

The location was excellent, but the stay was a nightmare. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, and the apartment felt boxed in between buildings, with no air circulating. I had to stay outside all day, and we left a few days early. The building is far too shabby to be called a B&B. It’s a dump.

It's quiet despite being in a central area, and the price is reasonable. Having a kitchen and access to a washing machine is handy, but the humidity at night makes it difficult to dry clothes. Not bad overall.
