Getting to the castle along the steep path is quite a quest, but the views are breathtaking and the rooms are comfortable. It’s a romantic place for adventurers and a welcome break from the everyday rat race. The spring was so wet that we couldn’t hike in the surrounding hills, so we’ll definitely return.
We went to the festival, explored the castle, enjoyed excellent food, and saw a fantastic concert by the Prince and Duchess of Wales. Congratulations to everyone on their choice.
The panorama is impressive. It’s an interesting place, though when I visited it felt a bit lifeless, if that’s the word. I think there’s a restaurant, but it was closed.
The path down to the Fersinone River and its picturesque swimming spots are enchanting in summer, as are the surrounding woods. It’s a magical place with a view of the forest all around, perfect for meditation!
The cuisine is excellent, and the restaurant has a lot of character in its multipurpose room inside the ancient castle. The lighting feels inconsistent, though, with bulbs ranging from 2700 to 6400 Kelvin. I recommend removing all the 6400K lamps and using 2700K, or at most 3000K, throughout to make the room feel warmer and more welcoming.
