B&B La Toscana

The musty smell was noticeable as soon as we arrived and stayed with us throughout. Otherwise, the room was spacious, very clean, and had a nice bathroom with a walk-in shower. The B&B is nicely presented, with a garden and private parking. The owner is quiet but kind. I can't really comment on breakfast: it was set for 8:30, which felt late to me, and we left early without eating.

The owner was helpful, and the girl who prepared breakfast was kind and genuine. But the moldy smell throughout the building and in the room was unbearable. They praised the place as 500 meters from the lake, though it's actually out in the countryside. Outside, the property looks abandoned, run-down, and dirty. The common room smelled nauseatingly of mold and dirt. The room could have been nice, with good furnishings, if not for that smell. It was poorly kept, with cobwebs everywhere, even on the bedside lights. The bathroom was new but also badly maintained.

The whole B&B has an air of neglect, including the outside. The room was dirty and damp, and nothing had been cleaned. The sheets were old and worn, the pillows felt like stone, and blankets and hangers were tossed messily in the closet. In the bathroom, a used shower gel cap was sitting on the shower handle, so the stall clearly hadn't been cleaned.

Antonella greeted us so warmly and professionally that we felt at home. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, and the staff were friendly and attentive to whatever we needed. Set among greenery, it's a lovely place for a relaxing stay, and a convenient base for visiting Marta, Capodimonte, Bagnoregio, Viterbo, and the surrounding area. I had a wonderful time and will definitely come back.
