Organic Tribe Salento B&B

It's a beautiful property, and Mr. Andrea welcomed us with four scrambled eggs. The location is strategic, just 7 km from the sea. Irene was wonderfully hospitable and helpful, and her local information was a great discovery. Highly recommended.

Organic Tribe Salento felt like a place full of light. The owners, Andrea and Irene, are attentive and always on hand. The setting is casual, welcoming, and never dull, with the comforts you'd expect from a high-end hotel. Breakfast is served on a beautiful terrace, and I especially appreciated how thoughtfully they catered for vegans and people with food intolerances. You can join yoga on the property in the morning or at sunset, and rent a bike to explore Martano and the surrounding centuries-old olive groves. The location is handy for Sant'Andrea sea stacks, Otranto, Lecce, and other lovely towns in Salento, all just a few kilometers away. I arrived by train and had no trouble arranging a transfer from Lecce train station. Highly recommended!

The breakfast was a real highlight, served on a sunny terrace and well prepared. It's an Italian spread, with everything from milk and biscuits to cereal, yogurt, juices, water, and coffee, plus spectacular croissants the lady brings back from the bar every morning. Our room was cleaned on the third day, even though the rules say it would be after seven days. We appreciated that, since seven days without sweeping and mopping, cleaning the bathroom, changing rubbish bags, or replacing towels would be too long. The B&B is charming, with simple decor and all the modern comforts, including a super-comfortable bed, a relaxing rain shower after the beach, and a large balcony with a table and chairs. The village around it feels quite dated, given the condition of the buildings. The owner cares a lot about the environment, and we talked about this one morning. I suggested putting a water dispenser on the landing by the rooms to help guests avoid plastic waste, and swapping the room's plastic cups for washable, reusable ones. For exploring, the location works very well: Gallipoli, Otranto, Baia dei Turchi, and San Foca are all within reach. Santa Maria di Leuca is farther away but definitely worth it, and Lecce, just 20 km away, is beautiful in the evenings. A perfect holiday, made even better by the class of Organic Tribe Salento. We'll be back!

The peace and quiet made for a guaranteed good rest, and the breakfast terrace is priceless. We found the room clean, cozy, and fitted with every comfort, with perfect service throughout. We recommend it to everyone and will definitely return.
