Bed & Breakfast Mari Lù

The warm welcome from Maria Lucia’s family set the tone for our five-day vacation. They made us feel part of everyday life in Puglia, and our stay felt warm and personal. The B&B Mari...Lú stands for family love, genuine hospitality, friendliness, respect for the land and its people, and deep honesty. Mandi from Friuli, Beatrice and Paolo. The B&B is in central Maruggio (TA), easy to find with satellite navigation if you’re coming from outside Puglia. We thought of it as a typical “Villa by the sea.” It’s white outside, like many houses in Puglia, with fine finishes and thoughtful furnishings throughout. Alessandro lovingly tends the outdoor areas, framed by succulents and palm trees. Inside, the elegant rooms each have a different color to match their name. Every room is named after one of the many beaches less than 1 km from Maruggio, a 5-minute drive away. Our room, “Piri Piri,” was sunset red and white, welcoming, and well organized. It had every comfort, including Wi-Fi, and was spotlessly clean with a delicate scent. The linens and cleanliness were top notch, and the breakfast buffet was lovingly lavish :-) We also considered the free internal parking essential. Maruggio made a great base for easily reaching nearby sights and attractions, as well as the fine sand beaches and crystal-clear blue sea on Puglia’s Ionian coast. It’s also a town of people where humanity and purity of heart feel at home.

Marialucia and her husband Nicola were delightful hosts, and we’ll definitely return. We stayed in a comfortable, homely place, with immaculately clean rooms and a truly delicious breakfast.

Marilù, Luigi, and her partner Cristina are fantastic, and they make you feel like family. Breakfast was abundant, and Luigi’s cappuccino and macchiato with cream were delicious. Each morning, the family’s smiles brightened our day as soon as we woke up. Mom Marilù even prepared a little treat for our beach basket. You’ll find cleanliness and good food here, but most of all, it feels like home. The owners are wonderful people, and I miss them so much. I’d travel all these miles just to say hello!
