Casa La Vigna

The sea view from the balcony made our mornings and evenings especially lovely, and the apartment itself was impeccable. Casa la Vigna is a wonderful choice if you’re after a few peaceful days surrounded by nature and animals. Gaetano made us feel so welcome. Breakfast was excellent, with local products, and one evening we ordered dinner and were treated to delicious food. Thank you, Gaetano. We’ll definitely be back!

The owner is a fantastic cook and made us dinner from local ingredients every evening. We really enjoyed our stay. The apartments are spacious, and the terrace view is amazing. There are three dogs too, which the kids loved.

We were after a relaxing holiday, and that’s exactly what we got. Gaetano even drove us into Giarre so my daughter could get the COVID test she needed to fly home. He was a wonderful host, with an authentic farm and great suggestions for outings. The views over the coast and Etna were breathtaking. Puntalazzo is a small village about a 15 minute drive from the highway, with a bar serving good coffee, gelato, and pastries, plus a little grocery shop and farmacia close to the property. Breakfast was fresh from the farm and delicious, especially the homemade jellies, exotic fruit, and freshly laid eggs. There’s a wide range of fruit and vegetables growing there, and Gaetano makes his own wine and olive oil. He also cooked us two incredible dinners and pointed us toward lesser known towns and restaurants, so it felt like we had an insider’s tour of Etna, Taormina, and the surrounding area. My daughter loved watching him cook and spending time with the dogs and cats. We’ll visit again!

La vigna felt like a little paradise, and Tano was an exceptional host. The apartment was clean and stocked with everything, including a washer and dryer. Families with kids or groups of friends would love it. Tano can show you around the area, and besides breakfast, I highly recommend trying one of his dinners. Lola & Camilla were lovely to cuddle, and we enjoyed picking fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden. Alla prossima Tano!
