Peri Peri Guest House

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house sits high up, reached by some interesting winding roads, and the view is fantastic. You can see Etna from the terrace. The pool is a good size and the water was very clean. Shops are about 3-4 km away by car, and the beach takes around 15 minutes to reach by car. The owner was lovely, gave us useful information, and had good suggestions for each day. He lives right beside the house, so it’s easy to find him if you need anything. His wife was kind and helpful too. There’s a separate parking space, and our dogs were comfortable on the terrace. A pet garden next to the terrace has goats, Vietnamese pigs, and chickens that you can feed every day. They’re very cute, especially Kamilla, the goat who’d hop onto the terrace each morning to be petted. The animals didn’t smell at all, as the owner cleaned the area every morning. It’s a great place to unwind, and we’d definitely come back.

The terrace has an amazing view, and the bathrooms are spacious. There’s also a washing machine and dishwasher. The house was unfortunately in poor repair. There was a musty smell throughout, even in the cupboards, and the kitchen felt neglected. The oven didn’t work, utensils were missing, and there wasn’t a trash can. The garden was overgrown, and weeds made the children’s play area at the back impossible to reach. The pool was dirty, with screws sticking out of the casing around it. There was no parasol or clothes dryer.

The only real drawback is the municipal road up to the house, which is a bit bumpy and really ought to be fixed. That’s outside the owner’s control, though. The location is lovely, with views of Mount Etna and the sea, a beautiful pool, and greenery all around. There’s also a barbecue, and the house itself is attractive and well maintained, with the comforts needed for a peaceful stay. Mr. Liotta was caring and always available, even offering alternate routes and ideas for things to do nearby. Be sure to follow his directions to the villa carefully, or GPS may send you along narrow, bumpy back roads.

The setting is beautiful and peaceful, with a breathtaking view. We had an unforgettable dinner at the property's Home Restaurant.
