The one thing we loved was the beautiful view of the island of Capri. The rest of the stay was difficult. The streets are very narrow, so take a small car, and be prepared for constant honking from scooters and passing cars. Shouting from residents downstairs was often loud enough to keep us awake for ages, and the air conditioning barely worked. The double bed was very uncomfortable: the mattress was loose, and it squeaked and creaked loudly, making it hard to sleep. Everything felt old. The wardrobes smelled so musty that we kept our things in our suitcases. The washing machine didn't work very well, and opening the refrigerator made us feel sick. Stray cats tore up anything large we left on the terrace. The outdoor bins were usually emptied at night or while we were away, so it was best to put something heavy on top to stop the cats knocking them over. We had to tighten the shower head before we could shower properly, and it looked incredibly disgusting and unhygienic.
