The balcony looked out over the road, but we enjoyed sitting there and watching people go by. The room was gorgeous, and everything was very clean. Staff were lovely and attentive. There’s also a pool and an outdoor area for eating and sitting. I’d give this hotel more than five stars if I could.

The pool area was pleasant, and the staff were welcoming and clearly worked hard. Breakfast was okay, though I think I found a sharp piece of plastic in the fruit cocktail. Getting to the lovely village means a 1 km walk along a busy, narrow road with no pavement, which felt dangerous. The rooms are dated and tired, with narrow beds, a tiny TV, and a very small shower.

We’d come back. Dinner was wonderful and well-priced, and breakfast was exceptional. It’s a lovely, simple, family-run little hotel in S'agata, about 15 minutes or so from Sorrento, with very personal service.

The village makes a handy base between Sorrento and the Amalfi coast, and there are good bus connections. We were here as a group and had dinner too; the food was good and service was nice. It’s a small family business. Breakfast may not suit everyone, but compared with other hotels in Italy, I thought it was very decent.
