Sea Beauty in Massa Lubrense

The sea view was lovely, and being outside central Sorrento meant things were calmer and more peaceful. We stayed three nights, though the overall experience was mixed. Most of the apartment was clean, but I’d give it 7/10: the coffee machine’s drip tray was still full and we had to clean it. It had most of what we needed, and the beds were comfortable if you like them hard. The AC ventilation worked well in every room. The TV could have been bigger. Getting there was tricky. The road is steep and narrow, so carrying luggage is hard, and we strongly recommend having a car. The apartment had no mobile reception, and the Wi-Fi was weak and unreliable. That made us feel a bit unsafe when we needed to contact someone or make plans. The “private beach” was a 5-10 minute walk down lots of narrow stairs. Anyone willing to make the walk can use it, so it isn’t truly private, but it was much less crowded than the public beaches. Communication with the host was the biggest problem and what lowered our rating. The first day went smoothly, but after that it was hard to get in touch. We needed a few things, including laundry detergent for the washing machine, which the welcome folder mentioned. We messaged the day before and were told it would be delivered the next day, but it never arrived. We followed up a couple of times and waited more than eight hours each time for a reply. I’ll upload the message history if Google allows. The host eventually said he’d been sick and asleep all day. We understand things happen, but as guests traveling from another country, we felt stranded and ignored. We couldn’t do the laundry that was included in the booking. It’s a shame, since the apartment is decent and the view is truly lovely, but reliable communication matters when you’re traveling, and it was lacking here.
