Gocce Di Capri Resort

The pool was wonderfully quiet and not overcrowded when we visited at the beginning of September. We enjoyed a couple of drinks and some sharing bites there. It’s a great option for a day by the pool if you want the view but don’t care for a rocky beach. Everything was good, and I’d definitely recommend it.

The hotel staff kept in close touch and made sure our family group was looked after, including arranging airport transport, rentals, and tours for anyone who wanted to explore. We booked ahead for our wedding trip to the Sorento Coast and found they could accommodate our large group. The rooms were very clean, with panoramic views, and the pool was amazing. Food at the restaurant and bar was fresh and tasty. Up on the hill, you get a panoramic view of the Sea and Capri Island, quiet small community vibes, narrow coastal roads, family run businesses, the smell of espresso, and great sunsets. Fresh Limoncello and lemons all around the property reminded us of southern Italy’s lovely climate. Many thanks to Cristina, Andrea, Michele, and all the hotel and restaurant staff for being so friendly and taking care of us. I highly recommend this place.

We had the best experience of our vacation here. The service was beyond what we’d hoped for, and the staff helped book tours, sort out transport, and make sure all the details were taken care of. The food was the best we’d had since starting our trip. Gocce di Capri felt like a hidden gem, a beautiful break from the bustle of Sorrento and positano, but still close enough to enjoy the area’s charm.

I was surprised by how high Gocce di Capri’s reviews are, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The rooms were very poor quality, with old, cheap furniture and no character, and they were serviced only twice a week. We also had to pay extra for a baby cot, which was old and seemed to have a cigarette burn on the side. Getting around was another problem. Sant’Agata is about a seven minute drive away, but there’s no footpath, so without a rental car you need taxis. The short ride cost about €45 on average, €40 to town and €50 coming back, paid in cash to the hotel. We couldn’t help feeling we were being squeezed. On the plus side, there’s a little square 10 minutes’ walk the other way with a cafe, bar, and a couple of good restaurants. The bar’s lunch menu is limited, fine for caprese salad and snacks, while the restaurant food was pretty good. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. We had a sea view from our balcony, and the view from the restaurant, bar, and pool was beautiful. One evening at a wedding welcome drinks reception, all the drinks, even the wine, were served in plastic cups.
