The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was clean. Breakfast was okay too. The problem for me was getting to and from Venice. The trip takes about an hour, and after 8 pm it takes even longer, so if you’re young and active and want to visit twice in a day, say during the day and again at night after a break, that doesn’t really work. I didn’t try coming back after midnight because I was already too tired after the ride to the hotel. If you only want to be near Venice and spend part of your time there, the distance may be fine. The hotel is quiet and clean. Thanks.

There’s a real break from Venice’s crowds here, with a park, grass, trees, birds, and little rabbits. The hotel and marina have their own Vaporetto stop, and Piazza S Marco is about ten minutes away. In summer there’s a good restaurant, while bar snacks are available year-round. When the Vaporetto stops running, the hotel’s own boat can pick you up very late at S Elena and take you back to Certosa hotel.

Certosa gives you room to unwind, with greenery and quiet even though the main island is so close. My room was clean and cute, and there were pleasant spots outdoors where I could sit in either sun or shade.

It’s a nice island and the room was nice too, but the place is pretty out of the way. Works as a getaway, though maybe not if you’re hoping to explore mainland Venice.
