In June 2025 we spent a week at Campeggio Italia in Marina di Massa, and left with concerns about pricing transparency and how international guests are treated. In conversations at the campsite, we learned that we'd paid considerably more than many other guests for a comparable bungalow, with no explanation for the difference and no extra services or value in return. At check-in, we also weren't given essential items like the air conditioning remote or beach access card, and had to ask for them separately. It was difficult to communicate with staff because English was barely spoken, and the help we received felt minimal or dismissive. That left us with the impression that non-Italian guests may not be welcomed or prioritized equally, which is troubling for a business serving international tourists. The accommodation was acceptably clean but clearly outdated. For what we paid, there were more competitive options in the area, including hotels with daily cleaning and breakfast included. Taken together, the unclear pricing, unequal service, and lack of a welcoming atmosphere for international travelers fell short of fair, inclusive hospitality.

The staff were super friendly, but our tent pitch was farthest from the front, right next to a noisy, restless road. We were traveling around Italy with a tent and weren't staying the whole season in one of the built-in caravans, and that's where we were placed. The showers and toilets weren't clean, with cobwebs on the walls. All of this cost €37.50 for one night.

We had two power outages in three days, and personal belongings worth about €2,000 were stolen. The place was filthy, with what looked like mold all over the kitchen and bathroom; our friends even had cockroaches coming out of their shower. When we reported everything to reception, they did nothing and told us to clean it ourselves. Literally the worst place I've ever stayed!

The toilets were in terrible shape, and the campsite itself wasn’t comfortable. We also ended up paying more than we’d been told at the start because the owner hadn’t mentioned the extra fees. I definitely don’t want to come back.

The rest of the place was okay, but our tent spot was right by the road and mornings were really noisy. Staff were pretty rude about check-in, saying it wasn’t possible after 8 pm even though we had a reservation. The reception was open until 9, so that was confusing.
